St. Andrews State Park
St. Andrews State Park covers over 1,200 acres on the east end of Panama City Beach. For us it's the best beach day option for guests with kids or anyone who wants a calmer entry to the Gulf — the jetty area creates a protected lagoon. It's also the launch point for the Shell Island ferry.
What's inside the park - The Jetties / Kiddie Pool — a protected lagoon between the rock jetties, ideal for small swimmers and snorkeling on calm days. - Gulf-side beach — the main wide sand beach. - Sand Pine Nature Trail & Heron Pond — easy walks through coastal scrub. - Boat ramps, picnic pavilions, and a small camp store. - Shell Island ferry / shuttle — seasonal, departs from inside the park see the Shell Island guide/things-to-do/shell-island. Practical notes - There's a per-vehicle day-use fee at the gate.
